I drew Gurdonark — and spent days just listening to his remixes and library. I kept digging back deeper and deeper — and found a 2008 remix he did of Lisa DeBenedictis. She’d recorded her Christmas pell of Holly & the Ivy just for him, and I was thrilled to find it! I used his remix as a base, worked with a few of his drone and winter tone samples, and found great samples from keytronic and bluemillnieum for just a little rhythm. I played some strings, bass and synth and sang some backing vox to support Gurdonark’s samples. Did some pitch shifting, cutting and treating. But really, Lisa & Gurdonark are the stars!
